Michael Karl Maslen

Educated at King Charles I School, Kidderminster, he joined the Construction Industry at 20, training at Marley Concrete PLC where he researched and worked on the development programme of the "O" Plan office building range of system buildings.

He transferred to Construction Management with the Bardolin Group and worked extensively in Estate Development in the Home Counties and qualified as a Building Surveyor / Chartered Institute of Building Member. Returning to a design career he studied Architecture and worked for various design and design build groups, obtaining a diploma in 1978.

Combining management and design capability he worked at the Bracknell New Town development for a subsidiary of Costain Ltd., and designed and built nationally for VW GB Ltd., Plessey Group, Sperry Univac, Sherson American Express and I.H.I., Nippon Kangyo and others both in London and in Paris. In 1979 his design for Millipore UK, for their Harrow Headquarters, won a PIA Award for the design and builders DCB Ltd.

Since forming the Practice in 1980 he has continued to work on large commercial and residential development schemes, such as London Docklands.
